We're looking for the TOP 12 pets in NWA to feature in our 13th Annual NIE Pet Calendar. (40,000 distribution)

One pet out of the 12 will win Pet of the Year and its photo will appear in full color on the cover of the 2012 NIE Pet Calendar. All 12 winning pets receive a professional pet portrait session at Bedford Camera & Video Portrait Studios (Fayetteville or Rogers location). Pet of the Year, and runner up, will receive gift baskets valued at $75 each from Petco.

All entry fees and voting proceeds benefit the Newspapers in Education (NIE) program which provides no-cost newspapers for literacy projects in Northwest Arkansas schools.

To Enter:

• Upload ONE clear, sharp, color snapshot of each entry.(Click banner above to navigate to contest entry page.)
• You can enter up to three pets for the contest. No Polaroid, copyrighted, or professional photos are accepted.
• Photos must be at least 300 dpi at 4"x6".
• All photos will become property of NWA Media.
• There is an entry fee of $5.00 per pet entered. Major credit cards (Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover) are accepted.

Deadline for entries is OCTOBER 14, 2011

All entries will be featured online and in print September through October, with Round 1 voting ending on October 25, 2011. Each vote is 25 cents. Voting rules and ballots will appear each time pets are featured. The TOP 36 pets from Round 1 will move to Round 2, with final voting ending November 10, 2011. All votes carry forward to Round 2. The top 12 pets will be announced on November 11, 2011 and will be featured in our annual full color NIE Pet Calendar, that will be distributed in Washington, Benton, and Madison counties on Monday December 19, 2011. In case of a tie, a drawing will be held to determine the winner. Winners must schedule and complete their portrait session between 11/12/11 and 11/18/11.
