The zoom and aperture range with the 1.4x teleconverter is 280-840mm, f/8-9, and with the 2.0x teleconverter is 400-1200mm, f/11-13.

Aspherical Lens Reduces Spherical Aberrations
An aspherical lens is incorporated to reduce spherical aberration while also reducing lens size and weight. Spherical aberration is a slight misalignment of the light rays projected on the image plane. This is caused by differences in refraction at different points on conventional spherical lenses that degrade image quality in large-aperture lenses.
