Sharp and detailed at all focal lengths
Four aspherical elements and two ED (Extra low Dispersion) elements deliver high resolution throughout the 24-50 mm zoom range. Flare, ghosting, and color bleeding are subdued for clear rendering, while F2.8 and an 11-blade circular aperture unit can create stunning G Lens bokeh. Maximum magnification is 0.3x (AF)/0.33x (MF) with a minimum focus distance of 0.19 m (0.63 ft) (AF)/0.18 m (0.59 ft) (MF) at the wide end for stunning close-ups.
AF that brings out the best in high-performance bodies
Two specially optimized linear motors and a precision control system acquire focus on any subject with remarkable speed and accuracy. Tracking performance is also excellent and fully capable of keeping up even with Sony’s advanced model α9 III camera at up to 120 fps. Precise, quiet focus is smoothly acquired and maintained even when shooting high frame rate 4K 120p or FHD 240p movies.
A compact F2.8 zoom that is ready to go anywhere
With four aspherical elements and a large F2.8 maximum aperture in an optical design that delivers outstanding imaging performance, this innovative lens is no more than 74.8 mm in diameter by 92.3 mm in length (3 x 3-3/4 inch). The use of engineering plastics for some components enhances durability while reducing weight to just 440 grams (15.6 oz.) for agile mobility and minimum stress during long shooting sessions.
Constant F2.8 in a mobile zoom is great for movies
Precise, quiet AF and an F2.8 aperture in a compact, lightweight zoom can be an advantage for movies. Minimal center of gravity shift makes this lens a good choice for gimbal or drone mounting. Combined with in-camera Active Mode stabilization it can deliver stable handheld footage at wide angles even while walking. It also supports in-camera breathing compensation and metadata recording.
Comprehensive control in a compact lens
Focus, zoom, and aperture rings provide comprehensive control. The aperture ring features switchable click stops. A customizable focus hold button and AF/MF switch are also provided. Linear Response MF ensures immediate, intuitive manual focus control. A dust and moisture resistant design maximizes reliability in challenging outdoor conditions, and the front element features a fluorine coating. Filter diameter is 67 mm.

Orders over $99.00 will receive free FedEx Ground shipping (typically 2-3 business day shipping) in the contiguous (lower- 48) United States. In stock orders placed after 1:00pm CST on weekdays will not ship until the next business day. Orders submitted online before 1:00pm CST, Monday - Friday will be processed that same day. though, this does not guarantee that your order will ship that same day. Orders are subject to verification and sometimes require additional information from the cardholder. These precautions are made with the card holder's interests in mind. We will attempt to reach the cardholder for up to five (5) working days after the order has initially gone through our verification department. After the allowed time, and if we are not able to verify the credit cardholders information, we will cancel and refund the pending order. Orders placed after 1:00pm CST Fridays will not ship until the following Monday. The $99 order total is calculated after all rebates and bundle discounts have been applied. Gift cards, duties, and taxes do not count towards the $99 order total.
