Paul Smith Bio:
Being a science and nature fanatic, Paul’s life journey has been dedicated to capturing the beauty of the planet, especially at night.
Born with an innate sense of wonder and a deep connection to nature, Paul grew up in the UK and spent much of his early childhood and teens in the countryside, enveloped in the peace of the rolling hills and dark, starry skies. Paul moved on to Canada in his twenties, where his passion for nature was further kindled in the remote locations he got to visit for his work. Picking up a camera in the mid-2000s, Paul decided to immortalize the beauty he encountered with the purchase of his first full-frame camera. This is when his love for the night sky was cemented with experiencing things like the aurora, the Milky Way, and meteor showers in pristine North American skies.
Now, equipped with a camera and an unyielding spirit, Paul travels the USA photographing all things dramatic, like storms, sunsets, and, of course, the night sky. Since moving to Oklahoma, Paul has enjoyed the challenge of capturing night sky moments over Oklahoma landmarks, despite the inherent challenges of light pollution. Between work and family life, he travels Oklahoma and neighboring states chasing storms and the night sky. Paul is best known for his specialization in capturing the beautiful, fleeting moments called Red Sprites during storm season. Paul's work can be found in National Geographic, Petapixel, BBC Earth, The Washington Post, and in various science journals, amongst other places.
Paul has led annual workshops during storm season for the last 4 years, and collaborates with scientists and NASA with his Transient Luminous Event work. A night sky adventure capturing Orion and spectacular meteors during the height of the 2025 Meteor shower peak. Night sky pro workshop with instruction tips and tricks to achieve the best images during this incredible annual event.

We do not sell Grey Market Products
What is Grey Market?
Products that are imported and sold by anyone other than USA Authorized dealers are considered Grey Market products. These are often genuine products that were intended for other countries; therefore, they may not meet the manufacturer's specifications for US products or perform as expected, and they are not covered by a USA manufacture warranty or eligible for a USA repair service.
What are the differences as far as a customer is concerned?
In most cases, the main difference between a "USA" and a "Grey Market," or imported product is the cost of the item and the terms of the item’s warranty coverage. The products themselves are otherwise identical. As a rule, "Grey Market" items typically cost less than their USA counterparts. "Grey market" products never qualify for manufacturer's rebate programs and can not be price matched. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-333-4280.
